I’m so excited about the new year. 2019 was a great year for Lover’s Quarrel and I’m excited about what I can do in 2020.
In 2019, I learned a lot about marketing myself and I invested more time into my blog and it paid off. In 2020, I want to do even more. Here are some things I have planned.
Create a Reading Challenge for Smashwords
When writing my Indiecember post, I realized how few and far between book reviews are on Smashwords. In fact, I couldn’t find a book on Smashwords with over 60 reviews, which was one of the challenges for Indiecember.
Smashwords is my favorite ebook retailer because it’s all books by independent authors and publishing houses. Not only that, but Smashwords gives higher royalties to its authors than most ebook retailers, and it’ll distribute your book to other ebook retailers for free.
On the flip side, Smashwords has one of the easiest affiliate programs I’ve seen, and with some of the highest commissions. So it takes care of both the readers and the authors.
I would love to see some more Smashwords readers, so I’m going to create a challenge similar to Indiecember. For everyone who completes the challenge, I’ll buy them a book of their choice. More details coming soon.
Post 24 Videos on YouTube
I still have trouble committing myself to creating my YouTube videos in a timely manner. So this year I’m going to do my best to post at least twice a month. That’ll be hard for me because I’m pretty sure I post only once a month right now. But it’s time to take my videos more seriously. 24 videos will be manageable with a little bit of dedication and a lot of work. I’ve already got several videos filmed and ready for editing.
Updating the Lover’s Quarrel Ultimate Reading List
Everyone who signs up to my mailing list gets the Lover’s Quarrel Ultimate Reading List. This is a list of free, full-length romance novels that I’ve rated 4 out of 5 stars or higher. And right now the list has 3 books on it. That’s it.
So, I’m planning on updating the list in 2020, to at least get it up to 5 books. Everyone subscribed to my list will get the updated copy, as well as everyone who subscribes after the book is updated.
