Today’s interview is with music producer and indie author Stephen Cohen.
LQ: Tell me a little bit about yourself.
SC: Born, Sutton-In-Ashfield, England.
As a child, I use to play on the Major Oak in Sherwood forest with my brothers but never got to be Robin Hood, maybe that was because they are older than I am.
When my grandfather died, some forty plus years ago now, he left me a handful of WWII items, this sparked my interest in world war history, in particular, WWII. Over the past twenty years, I have travelled to over fifty countries around the world, always making sure I visited any sites, museums of interest. You can check out my travels on my website.
The inspiration for writing this novel came about after watching a TV program called World War Weird.
I love anything to do with WWII but my other passion is music. I have written and produced many songs over the years, you will find an EP on Amazon that goes with my novel. For a taste, watch the book advert on Twitter which includes a clip of one song from the EP.
LQ: What does your writing process look like?
SC: My first novel was produced by firstly completing a synopsis, writing first draft, changing synopsis a little, then developmental editing X2, proofreading, beta reading and finally self-publish.
LQ: What was your favorite book to write so far?
SC: Blue Ring Assassins – book 1
LQ: Who is your favorite character to write about?
SC: Petra, she is beautiful but very deadly, psychotic.
LQ: Who are your favorite authors? Have any of them influenced your work?
SC: Don’t really have a favourate…
LQ: How are you doing during the current pandemic?
SC: Very well, keeping myself busy. When you live alone it’s important to keep the mind active.
LQ: What are you currently working on?
SC: Working on book two of Blue Ring Assassins which should be published around September this year, writing and producing new songs.
