Today’s author interview is with author and podcaster Lysz Flo.
LQ: Tell me a little bit about yourself. LF: I am an Afro Caribbean latinx, trilingual spoken word artist, author of fiction and poetry, and podcast host of Creatively Exposed who released her poetry novel Soliloquy of an Ice Queen, March 2020. LQ: What does your writing process look like? LF: It can be chaotic and obsessive. Sometimes I outline my ideas and other times I write in spurts it all depends on the subject. I do write daily even if it’s a micro poem. LQ: What was your favorite book to write so far? LF: My recent fantasy poetry novel called Soliloquy of an Ice Queen. LQ: Who is your favorite character to write about? LF: All the different versions of me that I wish I could have guided be it in my current YA project or my poetry books. LQ: Who are your favorite authors? Have any of them influenced your work? LF: Wow so many,Maya Angelou, my father Herve Florival, Félix Morisseau Leroy, Edwige Danticat, Elizabeth Acevedo, Nnedi Okorafor, Roshani Chokshi, Tomi Adeyemi. Yes, I think any writing that touched my heart leaves a little imprint there and teaches me how to be truer to my own voice. LQ: How are you doing during the current pandemic? LF: It has places in a state of surrender I am learning to be at peace with and create from. There are great days and hard days. LQ: What are you currently working on? LF: I am working on my podcast Creatively Exposed, some voice acting work, and returning to my unfinished stories. LQ: Anything else you would like to share? LF: My books and I can be found on my website www.lyszflo.com |
